The Norfolk Southern Railroad is continuing their steam excursions this year, and one of the first ones was from Bristol, TN, to Radford, VA this last weekend. The trip was fun, the weather very nice (if a little cold) and the Southern 2-8-0 #630 was running well. You can see the best photos in this album.
I want to give a shout out to the Wytheville Municiple Police department (Wytheville, VA). They were very supportive of responsible railfans, interested and helpful. They were very polite and assisted those who were in town to view the locomotive. If you stop in Wytheville as a railfan, make sure you thank one of the men in blue!
